For centuries, the Monadnock Region has drawn artists, writers, actors
and intellectuals to enjoy the mild temperatures and beauty of our
summers. These guests have enriched our area with art, poetry, music,
theater and thoughtful talks given every
summer Sunday at the Monadnock Summer Lyceum. Much has changed since the Lyceum was founded in 1829 and audiences arrived in horse-drawn carriages. World tensions, raw nerves and foul language abound in our over-scheduled, harried society. This summer, the Lyceum board has asked ten world-class lecturers to address their areas of expertise.
