Coming of Age in the 2020s
View Lecture

Three recent ConVal High School graduates will share what it’s like to be an adolescent today.

How does social media influence their lives?  How might they respond to politics? What does it feel like never to be fully disengaged from the feed of information? Young people today are often spoken for and sometimes unheard. The ConVal graduates will talk about how they see their world, its options and challenges.

Having come of age with lock-downs, not fire drills -- with texting, not writing letters, they inhabit a universe that sometimes puzzles parents and grandparents. This is a session for sharing between the “Bob Dylan generation” and the “Bad Bunny generation,” among others.

The speakers are Hadley Bates and Ava Cronin, both from Peterborough, and Clara Wilsher, from Francestown.
