Laura Knoy founded and hosted “The Exchange,” the Granite State’s most recognized and respected news talk show on New Hampshire Public Radio. Listeners loved it, and Knoy enjoyed it.
Then, after 25 years, she walked away in 2018.
Knoy will discuss what led her to leave a job she excelled at to pursue something unknown. The result of her decision is “The Shopkeeper of Alsace” (Bedazzled Ink Publishing Co., 2025), her first novel. Knoy will describe the ups and downs of her seven-year journey: a path strewn with doubt, rejection, and disappointment, but also discovery, growth, friendship, and ultimately, an “encore career.”
Today Knoy is Director of Community Engagement at the UNH-Franklin Pierce School of Law and a fitness instructor at the Concord NH YMCA. She enjoys keeping up with two young adult sons, caring for an elderly cat, and spending time with her husband of 30 years.
